The 3rd Yakutia International Science Games will be held from June 24 to July 14. The Games is organized by the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) represented by the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Ministry of Education and Science, and the co-organizers are NEFU named after M.K. Ammosov and the Future Generations Fund of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

A press conference was held by the organizers on June 18 at the Republican Media Center. Participants included Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Anatoly Semenov, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Nyurgun Pavlov, Vice-Rector of NEFU Aleksey Golikov, General Director of the Future Generations Fund of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Vladimir Egorov, Rector of the Junior Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Vasily Pavlov, and Andrey Petrov, a participant in the 2018 International Science Games and chief engineer of the Cholbon satellite project.

In 2026, 564 schoolchildren will participate: 245 from Yakutia, 132 from 17 regions of Russia — from Moscow to Primorskii krai — and 187 international participants from 13 countries: China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, South Korea, Palestine, Thailand, Iran, India, Mexico, and Mongolia.

The program will be based on three international events: International Tuymaada Olympiad named after M.A. Alekseev in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science; the Yakutsk International Science Fair, a conference and competition for school students’ scientific projects; and the International Research School.

Related events will also take place: the YISG – 2026 Media School, the “Territory of Success” educational salon for teachers, the “Diplomats of the Future” presentation game, and the finals of the “Clever and Clever” television Olympiad in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The Games will be hosted by North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov, the Junior Academy of Sciences of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), the “Sosnovy Bor” Children’s Recreation and Health Center, and the Institute for Education Development and Advanced Training named after S.N. Donskoy-II . The Games’ opening ceremony will take place on July 2 at the NEFU cultural center “Sergelyakhskie Ogni”, and the closing ceremony will take place on July 9 at the “Russia – My History” historical park.

Leading Russian and international scientists will participate in the Games. Honorary guests include RAS Professor Artem Oganov and emissary of the intellectual movement Sergei Goman. The expert community also included specialists from Mexico.

The main mission of the Games is to develop international cooperation in education and science, as well as improve national support systems for talented children and youth.

Vladimir Egorov, Director General of the Future Generations Fund of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), noted: “The Games’ concept envisions a unification of Olympiad and research formats, including competitive and non-competitive events within the research field. Thus, a kind of ‘Olympic Games’ was created, where young talents interested in science can present their achievements and gain international recognition.”

Anatoly Semenov noted: “We always focus on developing human capital and education, because we understand that only by developing science and education can we develop territories like Yakutia and the Russian Federation. Science is a field that must be as open as possible. Despite sanctions, our scientists collaborate with colleagues from around the world, because studying climate and energy requires a unified effort. We must give young talent the opportunity to explore different fields — creative, scientific, and engineering. This is precisely why platforms like the International Science Games are needed.”

NEFU Vice-Rector Alexey Golikov noted: “Winners, prize winners, and participants of the Olympiad and scientific conference receive additional points when applying to enter North-Eastern Federal University.”
