On June 9, a working group led by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Sakha Republic Stepan Stepanov inspected the venues of the III Yakutsk International Science Games (YISG 2026)

The inspection of the venues was part of preparations for the large-scale event. The Games themselves will be held from June 24 to July 14, 2026. They are expected to attract over 500 schoolchildren from various regions of Russia and abroad, as well as over 300 organizers, experts, volunteers, and distinguished guests.

On June 8, a meeting of the YISG 2026 Organizing Committee was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Education and Science of Yakutia Nyurguna Sokolova. The meeting was attended by employees of educational institutions and North-Eastern Federal University bamed after the M.K. Ammosov .

A full map of the venues was presented at the meeting. The Sergelakhskie Ogni Cultural Center at NEFU will serve as the central venue for the ceremonies. The NEFU Natural Science Education Building will host intellectual competitions, a Science Fair, and a Media School. The Educational and Laboratory Building of the Junior Academy of Sciences in Chapayevo will host the International Research School and provide accommodation and meals for the Media School participants. The dormitory of the Republican Lyceum will accommodate participants, experts, and distinguished guests. The Institute for Education Development and Advanced Training will host the educational salon “Territory of Success,” and the Sakha National Broadcasting Company will host the finals of the television intellectual competition “Smart boys and Smart girls.”

In addition to the competition, a rich cultural and excursion program has been prepared for participants, including visits to the Mammoth Museum, the Kingdom of Permafrost, ethnographic complexes, and nature trips.

Sergey Popov, coordinator of the YISG 2026 headquarters, emphasized that thanks to the systematic work of the organizing committee, personally by the Head of the Republic, Aisen Nikolaev, and Deputy Chairman of the Government of Yakutia, Anatoly Semenov, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science, the Yakutia Academy of Sciences, and NEFU, all key documents have been approved, sites have been identified, and working groups have been formed.
